Bio

Charity Moon Henry is in her 9th year teaching at FCHS and is excited about the upcoming year! She has been heavily involved in theatre her entire life.  She graduated from FCHS and then went on to receive her Bachelors Degree in Theatre at Western Carolina University. While at WCU, Charity focused on many areas of the theatre such as acting, lighting and set design, directing and movement, and was also a college cheerleader.

Charity has worked in the theatre's professional arena as an actress, singer, dancer, director, writer and techie since 1991. She has performed in various theatrical settings including- but not limited to- Unto These Hills, Jekyll Island Musical Theatre, and The Atlanta Shakespeare Company at Shakespeare Tavern in Atlanta, GA. She was also the co-writer and director/choreographer for Franklin County's Land of Spirit summer season in 2012 and 2013.

Charity had the honor of cheering for the Atlanta Falcons while living in Atlanta.  She also worked two sessions at the Georgia State Capitol as the assistant to the Secretary Of the Senate. The majority of the time in Atlanta she spent working as a carpenter for a company which built sets for trade shows.  Charity has had the opportunity to work on a couple of movies and TV shows, but quickly decided that live theatre was her passion.

In 1996 Charity moved back to NC and worked at Southwestern Community College as the Assistant in Fundraising, a college recruiter, an Educational Consultant and a trained facilitator for Professional Learning opportunities.

Teaching theatre is her passion and she has high expectations for our Drama Department and the students involved.  The Drama Department strives to grow each year, producing high quality shows, various opportunities for students to demonstrate their talents, teach leadership and pride in each student and support FCHS academically in every way possible.
