I have both a Bachelor and Master of Music.  I received my undergraduate degree from Ole Miss, where I minored in English. I received my graduate degree from Mississippi College.  I also have endorsements for gifted education and English to Speakers of other Languages.

I have 11 1/2 years teaching experience as a band director in the private and public schools of Mississippi.  I also taught Fine Arts.

I have been teaching English here at Franklin County for the past eleven years.  I have been in charge of the English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) program for the past six years.

I come from a family of educators, so becoming a teacher seemed to be a natural decision.

I graduated from Hamilton High School (in Alabama) in 1989.  I attended the University of Mississippi, majoring in music and minoring in English.  I was active in the Pride of the South marching band, The Mississippians and The Collegians jazz bands, the Univeristy Orchestra, Taub Beta Sigma (the band service sorority) and Sigma Alpha Iota (music fraternity for women), of which I was chapter president.  I recieved the chapter and province leadership awards for SAI.  I graduated cum laude in December of 1993.

I served as assistant band director at Hillcrest Christian School in Jackson, Mississippi from January 1994-December 1995.

I served as band director at Florence Middle School and assistant band director at Florence High School from January 1996-June of 2001.  During this time I earned my Master of Music degree from Mississippi College.

I was band director at Morton High School and Bettye Mae Jack Middle School in Morton, Mississippi from Junly of 2001-September of 2005.  I regretfully resigned my positiion when my husband took a job in Athens, Georgia.

I began teacing at Franklin County High School in 2006.

I have two sons, Ryan and Ethan.  I am active in my church choir.  For fun, I am taking a sign language class.
