SCI200 Biology , SCI400 Environ Sci

I graduated from Hart County High School in 2012. Following graduating high school, I attended the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega. I graduated from UNG with a duel degree in Biology and Education.

During my time in college, I spent as much time in the classroom as possible. I began my career in education as a substitute teacher. I have subbed in every grade level, and several different counties in the region, including: Hart, Lumkpin, and Hall County. I spent 3 years as a paraprofessional at Lumpkin County Elementary. I graduated from UNG in May of 2017. This is my first year teaching. I am excited to start my journey at Franklin County High School.

My name is Deedra Kotal. I grew up in Hart County. I spent my entire life there until I graduated high school. I then moved to Dahlonega to pursue a degree in Biology Education from the University of North Georgia. I moved back to Hart County when I married my childhood neighbor, Dillon in 2016. We now live in Canon together with our precious puppy, Duchess.

What I Do for Fun: My husband and I enjoy traveling (especially cruising). We spent time in the Bahamas this summer, and are planning a trip to Cozmel during Christmas break. We also enjoy spending time training Duchess. She is a 9 month old Chesapeake Bay Retriever.
