I was born in New Jersey and grew up in New York State, where I graduated High School after one year in dual enrollment at UGA. I came to live in Georgia permanently in 1991 after living in 9 different states.

My husband, Rev. Donald Jackson, and 5 grown children, all graduated from SCHS. Our youngest son is still living at home doing dual enrollment at Toccoa Falls College. We also have 3 lovely grandchildren who are related to Edwin Powell Hubble of space telescope fame, and Nate Saint, the pilot from the Auca (Waodani) mission in Ecuador depicted in the movie End of the Spear.

My teaching career began in 2001 at FCMS, where I taught Special Education for 6 years. Since I transferred to the Hearing Impairment program for Franklin County in 2007, I divide my time between teaching students with hearing loss and other students with special needs in our county. In 2014-2015, the teachers at Carnesville Intermediate School chose me to represent them as Teacher of the Year. Then, after my first year at FCHS, I was awarded the 2015-2016 Top Knot Teacher of the Year award for the NE Georgia region of Connections for Special Parents.

Franklin County is a wonderful place to call my school home.
