Education

I recieved my Practical Nursing Degree from North Georgia Technical College in 2002 and my Bachelors Degree in Education from Piedmont College in 2014.  I plan to attend Valdosta State University, this Spring and obtain my Master's Degree in Workforce Education. 2016-17 will mark my sixth year teaching at Franklin County High School and I have never been more proud to be a Lion.

Experience

I began my career as a nurse working at Cobb Memorial Hospital on the Med-Surg unit, I then found myself working as a Pediatric Nurse at West Lake Pediatrics for 6 years. I was hired into the Franklin School System as a Nurse-Parapro and held that position for four years. I was then given the opportunity to teach Health Science here at the high school.

Bio

I am a 1986 graduate from Franklin County High School.  I am married to Randy and we have three sons; all of which have graduated from here.  Justin is married and lives in Loganville, Georgia where he leads worship at his church.  Jonathon is married and lives in Eastover, North Carolina.  He is in the Army pursuing a position in Special Operations Civial Affairs department.  Jared recently graduated from FCHS and will be attending the University of North Georiga in Dahlonega pursuing his nursing degree, this Fall. We are all excited to be expecting the first grandbaby Melton.  She will arrive in December, to Jonathon and Brooke.

I am so blessed to be teaching the subject Health Science (Health Occupations). This class was my favorite  when I was in High School.  Being a teacher has always been something I dreamed of doing, even when I received my pin in Nursing school, I was given the privilege to speak and in my speech I said that I would love to teach nursing one day. Now I am able to combine teaching with nursing and it is  a dream come true. My main goal is not only to help my students to reach their goals and graduate with a plan in their future, but to inspire them to do their best and to believe in themselves no matter what circumstance they may face in life.
